🚀 Getting Started

1. Create an account

Register free at areoswow.com/register, or type /register in our Discord (the bot replies privately). Usernames are 3–16 letters/numbers.

2. Get the game

Areos WoW runs on the classic Wrath of the Lich King 3.3.5a client. The easiest path is the Areos Launcher — it downloads every custom patch (wings, Ascension tooltips, dungeon bands, the level-bar addon), keeps them updated, sets your realmlist, and launches the game. No client? Grab the full 16.5 GB client from the Download section first.

3. Connect

The launcher handles this automatically. Manual setup: edit Data\enUS\realmlist.wtf to:

4. Your first login

• Starter Wings — every new character begins with white feathered wings and free flight, anywhere.
• 100 gold, four 16-slot Netherweave Bags, and stacks of Runic Healing/Mana potions.
• Class spells auto-learn as you level — no trainer visits, no training costs.
• Dual spec unlocks at level 10.
• A welcome mail explains the realm; the Areos Helper NPC in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and Dalaran offers teleports and boosts to 80 or 100 (boosts arrive with a starter kit: bags, potions, and a 300–500g gear fund).

🗺️ Leveling: 1–80 and the 80–120 Ladder

Levels 1–80

With 100× XP the classic world flies by — a few hours, not weeks. Or skip it entirely: the Areos Helper boosts you straight to 80 (or 100) with riding, a mount, and a starter kit. The Solo Dungeon Finder works the whole way up.

The Ladder: 80–120

Northrend itself has been re-forged into a six-zone climb. Each zone's creatures, quests (with 4× gold), and rares are re-tuned to its band — real challenge, real XP, all the way to the cap:

The Areos Navigator NPC teleports you anywhere on the ladder — 37 destinations covering every zone, dungeon, and raid. Named rares in ladder zones announce their deaths realm-wide and pay a gold trophy with a shot at a cosmetic token.

Tip: the XP bar above level 80 needs the AreosLevelUp addon — the launcher installs it automatically.

🌟 Ascension (Levels 100–120)

At level 100, visit the Voice of Ascension in Dalaran and commit to one of two Ascended Paths for your class — a permanent subclass with five signature skills, a five-piece gear set, and a title shown everywhere your name appears.

The 20 Paths

Skills

Each path teaches five unique skills — one each at levels 100, 105, 110, 115, and 120 (100 new abilities realm-wide). They appear in your spellbook with full tooltips. Several paths summon guardians, warp time, or react to the damage you take and deal.

The Ascension Trials

Ascended gear is earned, not given. At each milestone the Voice of Ascension sends you to the Proving Grounds to duel an Ascension Trial Warden — one of five themed bosses (Blades, Storms, Flame, Death, and the enraging Colossus) scaled to your rank. Win to claim that milestone's relic; fall and you may retry. Five victories complete your set.

Ascended gear & titles

• Five-piece set per path — chest, legs, shoulders, helm, and your path weapon, with 3-piece and 5-piece set bonuses.
• Path titles ("Name the Warbringer") display on your nameplate, tooltip, inspect, /who — everywhere.
• Feats of Strength: The Long Climb (reach 110), Ascended (full relic set), Worldbreaker (reach 120) — realm-firsts are recorded in the Armory.

🏰 Dungeons & Raids

The dungeon ladder

All 16 WotLK five-man dungeons are re-tuned to climb with the zones. Heroic mode is always two levels above normal. Every dungeon auto-balances to your party size — walk in solo, duo, or with five and bosses scale to match. The Dungeon Finder shows the true Areos levels.

Raids — the 115–120 endgame

All 9 raids are re-tuned for Ascension: Naxxramas and Obsidian Sanctum at 115, then Malygos, Ulduar, Onyxia, the Crusaders' Coliseum, Vault of Archavon, Ruby Sanctum — and Icecrown Citadel at 120, where the Lich King is the realm's final fight. 10/25-player and heroic modes all scale.

Loot & emblems

• Tiered emblems: dungeon bosses drop Emblems of Triumph (double at level 100+, heroics add Emblems of Frost); raid bosses drop 2–3 Emblems of Frost.
• 25 [Ascended] signature items — legendary-grade versions of iconic drops with a chance from every final boss, scaling from the Drake-Mounted Crossbow at 85 to Glorenzelg [Ascended] from the Lich King.
• Oculus, Culling of Stratholme, and Eye of Eternity pay their bonus loot via the end-of-run reward chests.

🪐 Cosmic Dungeons (Ranks 1–30)

The infinite endgame. Talk to the Riftkeeper (Dalaran, Stormwind, or Orgrimmar) with your party and pick a rank — you're teleported into a random dungeon from the ladder where every enemy is empowered by the rank and by that tier's cosmic affixes. Kill the final boss to complete the run; rewards arrive by mail. Your best rank unlocks a 5-rank window and is shown in the Armory.

The five layers

Star ratings

Runs are rated 1–3★ by pace — finish within 20 minutes for 3★, 35 for 2★. Stars never gate progress; they pay +25% loot per star. During a Planetary Alignment the whole realm earns +1★ on every clear.

Materials & the Cosmic Forge

Each tier mails its own materials (Astral Dust and Star Crystals up through Singularity Cores, Primordial Essence, and Genesis Fragments) plus Cosmic Tokens and gold. Spend them at the Riftsmith (beside the Riftkeeper):

• 15 crafted pieces — Bands, Drapes, and Lockets in five tiers up to item level 296, filling slots your Ascended set doesn't.
• 5 Infusions — attune one at a time; your strikes gain a proc: Astral (shooting stars), Gravity (yanks your foe to you), Solar (fire), Void (hungering voids), Temporal (haste surge).
• Cosmic Curiosities — Azure/Blue/Bronze Drake mounts and pets, bought with Cosmic Tokens.

Cosmic professions

The ladder zones hide cosmic gathering nodes (Mining 400+/Herbalism 425+ — 72 nodes whose locations drift over time), cosmic fish in zone waters, and skinnable Star Wolves — all paying forge materials.

Achievements

Five Feats of Strength — Astral Ascendant, Nebula Diver, Celestial Sovereign, Voidwalker, and The Singularity — one per conquered layer. The realm's top ten deepest runs are crowned on the Armory's Deepest Divers board; the first Rank-30 clear is a permanent realm first.

🌍 Rifts, Invasions & World Bosses

Cosmic Rifts (~every 90 minutes)

Six rotating sky-events strike the ladder zones — the realm is warned when one opens:

• Meteor Storm — a 6M-HP Star Titan falls from the sky; the group that fells it is mailed Meteor Cores, Tokens, and 500g.
• Fallen Constellation — a pack of Star Wolves scatters across the zone, each paying Star Crystals.
• Celestial Eclipse — Cosmic runs pay double materials and world-boss kills pay bonus Tokens while it lasts.
• Black Hole Collapse — close the Cosmic Anomalies, then seal The Event Horizon.
• Nebula Bloom — rare cosmic flora erupts for herbalists.
• Planetary Alignment — attune all six zone shrines for realm-wide +1★ on Cosmic clears (30 min).

Scourge Invasions (~every 2 hours)

The Scourge assaults a random ladder zone with a war-band and a six-fold-HP mini-boss. Slay the boss to repel the invasion — the killer is announced and mailed 5 Emblems of Triumph + 200g. Ignore it and the zone stays overrun for half an hour.

🎁 Daily Rewards & Bounties

• Login streak — a 7-day cycle of escalating account rewards: gold every day, emblems on days 4–6, and a wing token on day 7.
• Playtime pay — every hour played mails 1 Emblem of Triumph + 50g.
• The Weekly Hunt — take the bounty at the Bounty Master in Dalaran: slay 50 / 100 / 150 ladder creatures for escalating rewards, resetting weekly.
• Milestones — dinging 100, 110, or 120 is announced to the realm; historic firsts (first 120, first Rank-30 Cosmic) are engraved forever in the Armory and Discord.
• Vote rewards — support the realm on the Vote page for extra goodies.

🪽 Cosmetics & Wings

46 cosmetic auras and wings unlock as you level — visit the Cosmetics Master (Stormwind, Orgrimmar, Dalaran) to wear them. Unlocks are account-wide (your highest character's level counts), and every wing grants free flight anywhere — including battlegrounds and dungeons. Wings and glows can also be bought as tokens in the Store.

Custom wings render via the launcher's client patch — if wings look invisible, run the launcher once.

🤖 Playerbots

100 AI adventurers live on the realm around the clock — leveling, questing, trading on the auction house, and queuing for battlegrounds. They are real characters in the world: group with them, fight beside them, or against them.

• Fill your party — invite bots to tank, heal, or DPS your dungeon and raid runs. Combined with party auto-balancing, every dungeon and raid is runnable at any hour.
• Fuller PvP — bots join battleground queues, so pops stay fast even off-peak.
• The online counter on the site and Discord includes them — the world genuinely is that busy.

⚔️ PvP

• Cross-faction battlegrounds — Alliance and Horde queue together from one pool; teams are auto-balanced by class and level. Faster queues, fuller games.
• 1v1 Rated Arena — create a solo team at any Arena Battlemaster (40g), queue from level 80, climb your own ladder, and earn arena points without needing a partner.
• Duel reset — duels restore health, mana, and cooldowns at start and end. Practice openers endlessly outside the gates.
• Wintergrasp — planned as the realm's level-120 PvP zone (coming soon).

💰 Economy & Auction House

• The Auction House is always stocked — hundreds of items across every quality tier, continuously restocked, and the house also buys, so your listings can sell at any hour.
• Gold sources: 4× quest gold on the ladder, double gold from Crystalsong elites, world-boss hoards, rare trophies (level×8g), playtime pay, login streaks, and Cosmic run rewards (50g × rank).
• Ladder creatures drop 4× gold compared to their originals.

🛒 Store & Donor Ranks

The donation store delivers instantly by in-game mail. Categories currently live:

Donor Ranks

Lifetime donations across all your characters earn five permanent ranks — Supporter, Patron, Champion, Warlord, Immortal. Each grants a chat badge, an exclusive title, and a reward mail of gadgets, mounts, and gold (up to Invincible and the Spectral Tiger at Immortal). Type .donor in-game to see your rank and what's next.

Transmog

Visit the Warpweaver transmogrifier (or summon one anywhere with the Portable Wardrobe) to restyle your gear.

❓ FAQ & Troubleshooting

My wings are invisible / show as a checkerboard box

Run the Areos Launcher once — it installs the wings client patch (patch-enUS-5). Wings' flight works regardless, but the visuals need the patch.

My XP bar vanished at level 80

Install the AreosLevelUp addon (the launcher does this automatically), then /reload.

Ascension skills have no tooltips / titles missing

Update through the launcher — tooltips, titles, achievements, and dungeon-finder level bands all ship in the client patch.

Item tooltips look stale after a patch

The launcher clears the client cache on every launch. If you start Wow.exe directly, delete the Cache\WDB folder yourself.

How do I fly?

Wear any wing at the Cosmetics Master (every new character starts with Starter Wings) — flight works everywhere, no riding skill needed.

Is the realm dead at night?

No — 100 AI adventurers live on the realm 24/7 and the auction house is always active. There is always someone to group with.

Can I play on more than one character?

Yes — cosmetic unlocks are account-wide, donor ranks are lifetime across characters, and mail between your characters is instant.
